CHOOSING YOUR GEMSTONES:

The price of gemstones is not included in the workshop fee. There are too many variables and too many choices-we want you to have what YOU want. You should research and purchase your own gemstones. Once you register we can let you know the size you need and what to look for.

In general, we suggest polished gemstones  about 1/2 to 3/4 inches in size.  (Select any kind you like! Pick what works for you- fire stones are shown in the image. Be creative! You could even add clear quartz or any other stones for a beautiful mix! Make your choices to fit your own unique spiritual needs.

Drum Making Workshop

Have you ever wanted to make your own drum, one that you design and that you bring to life?  Working with a drum that you birth into being is a beautiful event, and having an instrument that you made yourself can add so much richness to your drumming and journeying experiences.

In this workshop you will learn to make the same type of crystal drum pioneered by local shamanic practitioner and artisan, Tracy Crosby. (You won't see this style drum online! Be sure to watch the video description) Tracy is sharing her drum making technique for the first time, and will be assisted by Ben Tripp, to help you design and build a drum that fits your special spiritual needs.

We call this the "Fire Horse Crystal Drum" because we will be making horse drums to honor the year of the horse, 2026.  Fearless and graceful, Horse is a helper that takes us into the wildness of our hearts, bringing us freedom and liberation from what holds us back. Ancient cultures revered the horse as a spiritually carrier for visionaries and mystics. The Viking king Odin rode his majestic  8-legged horse, Sleipner, into the dream worlds. 

Fire is the only element that cannot be "captured" or held in a container, but it is also the only element that humans can create!
The fire element is needed now to birth our new world into creation!

MATERIALS
We are sourcing our materials in this workshop from one provider, Patrick Pinson at Cedar Mountain Drums in Portland Oregon. We are working with Cedar Mountain to honor and purchase ethically our materials. The horse skin comes from South America, and is from places where horses have been taken for end-of-days.  By purchasing these skins we hope to honor and carry forward the life of each horse in a sacred way.

Cedar Mountain willow oak hoops are high quality and wider/deeper than others we researched, which means a better tone quality and an instrument that will last. 

Patrick has been making drums in sacred way for decades, and we look forward to working with Cedar Mountain Drums to source our materials for this workshop! Aho!

In addition to horse skin, we ask that you bring any "fire" crystals or gemstones to add to the rim during the assembly process - this is Tracy's own unique design, and she'll teach you abaout this process!  Gemstones along the rim add a frequency and energy that brings a very special healing quality to your drum.

Every detail of design and assembly will be addressed in this workshop so that you have a one-of-a kind instrument and a one-of-a-kind experience.
